Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County (BBBS) is seeking part-time Fund Development & Special Events Interns for Summer 2026 (late May/June through August). Interns need to commit a minimum of 10 hours/week (can work up to 30 hours/week) and must be in attendance at the Dream BIG Gala on July 24th, 2026 at the Madison Marriott West. Work schedule and location can be flexible, although some work will require regular hours at the BBBS Office (2059 Atwood Avenue, Madison, WI 53704).

We build positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people, helping them achieve higher aspirations, greater confidence, and educational success.
Job Description
Interns will support fundraising, marketing, and event management for multiple BBBS initiatives, including:
● Dream BIG Gala – our largest annual fundraising event, featuring a Cocktail Hour with raffles and games, an extensive Silent Auction, a Live Program, and more.
● Caring for Kids Classic Golf Outing – assisting with logistics, sponsorship management, and Silent Auction procurement and organization
● Brand Ambassador & Community Engagement – helping raise awareness of BBBS, attend community events, and support recruitment and volunteer engagement.
● Alumni Engagement – assisting with the Alumni Ambassador program, archival research, and outreach to past volunteers and supporters.
As we mark 60 years of our agency in 2026, this internship offers a unique opportunity to help celebrate our history while gaining hands-on experience across multiple facets of fund development, including donor stewardship, database management, event logistics, marketing, volunteer coordination, creating event materials, and tracking auction donations. Interns will have the chance to represent BBBS in the community and contribute to meaningful engagement with both current and past supporters.

- Must be currently pursuing one of the 7 majors in the School of Human Ecology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media, graphic design, or event software is a plus but not required.
- Reliable transportation for community and off-site events is required.
- Evening and weekend availability may be necessary for events
