Communications & Marketing Intern
About Us
The Omaha Airport Authority is seeking a Marketing Intern to support our internal and external communications, with an emphasis on internal communications. This part-time role is a great fit for someone who is organized, motivated, and interested in developing real-world marketing and communications experience. This position will report directly to the Communications and Marketing Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and distributing internal communications, including staff updates, intranet content, newsletters, and digital signage.
- Contribute ideas and assist with planning for internal initiatives, events, and communication campaigns.
- Help organize and maintain files, content calendars, and project documentation.
- Support external marketing efforts such as social media content, website updates, and public-facing materials.
- Gather information from various departments and help translate it into clear and concise communications.
- Proofread, edit, and ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all platforms.
- Write short-form articles, employee spotlights, safety reminders, and project milestone announcements.
- Photograph and document life around the airport.
Additional Skills Preferred
- A strong desire to learn and the ability to take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Design skills preferred.
- Comfortable with Canva, Adobe Express, iPhone photography/video, and/or basic editing apps (CapCut, InShot, etc.).
- Experience with email marketing tools, Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint), or similar platforms is a plus.
- Self-starter who can manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Aviation knowledge or experience is a plus, though curiosity and interest are equally valuable.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and ask questions to gain clarity when needed.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Professional demeanor — you’ll interact with executives, construction managers, and frontline staff daily.
