Graphic Design & Production Intern

The Vineyard Gazette Media Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graphic Design & Production Intern to join our creative team. This hands-on internship offers the opportunity to work across both print and digital platforms, contributing to the design and production of our award-winning newspapers, magazines, and related media products.

The intern will assist with page layout and design for newspaper and magazine publications, ensuring visual consistency, strong typography, and adherence to brand standards. Responsibilities include supporting advertising production by designing, resizing, and formatting print and digital ads; preparing files for press; and making revisions based on client or editorial feedback. The intern may also assist with basic photo editing, graphics creation, and organizing digital assets.

In addition to production responsibilities, the intern will support Gazette-related events, helping with promotional materials, signage, programs, and on-site visual needs. This role provides exposure to the full production cycle — from concept and design through publication and distribution — in a fast-paced newsroom and publishing environment.

This internship is ideal for a graphic design student or recent graduate interested in editorial design, advertising production, and real-world publishing experience.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in graphic design and production
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop required
• Strong typography, layout, and visual communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and work collaboratively
• Interest in journalism, publishing, or local media a plus
