Project Success Internship - Youth Development & Nonprofit Operations
Project Success is looking for an Intern to join our team for an 8-week summer internship supporting programs and operations that help middle and high school students connect to their purpose. Project Success is a youth development nonprofit organization that works with more than 17,000 6th-12th grade students and their families annually and has more than 225,000 alumni around the world. As a Project Success Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in both direct youth programming and the behind-the-scenes work that makes it all possible. You will support a variety of summer programs, events, and day-to-day operations while learning how our team brings programs to life. Interns receive mentorship, training, and the opportunity to complete an independent project, all while contributing to work that makes a difference in the lives of young people.
This internship is only available to SoHE students with a junior standing or above.
Internship Responsibilities
Youth Development Programming
- Provide general support to Program Managers across a variety of summer programs and events including:
- Best Buy Teen Tech Center summer drop-in programming
- Summer Certificate programming
- Outdoor Adventure Expeditions
- Additional summer enrichment experiences such as Drone Camp
- Assist with student engagement, activity facilitation, and overall program flow
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants
- Support communication of program expectations and safety protocols
Nonprofit Operations
- Support general administrative tasks
- Organize program-related documents, trackers, and shared resources using Microsoft OneDrive
- Collect photos, highlights, and key information to support storytelling and communications
- Assist at community-facing events (e.g., teacher engagement events)
- Learn about fundraising at PS, including how partnerships and funding support programming
Professional Development & Learning
- Participate in regular check-ins with supervisor
- Develop and complete an independent project over the course of the internship
- Engage with staff across departments to gain exposure to different areas of the organization
- Attend meetings, trainings, and events, as assigned
Ideal Candidate Attributes
- High school degree or GED required
- Current School of Human Ecology student with a junior standing or above
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 150 hours over the course of the internship
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to travel to our headquarters
- Experience working with young people from a variety of backgrounds
- Interest in youth development, education, or community-based work
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Tech-savvy and proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to follow through on responsibilities
- A commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Values of Project Success
Position Details
This is an 8-week paid summer internship running from June 15 through August 7, 2026. Interns are expected to work 18-20 hours per week, for a minimum of 150 total hours.
This role is primarily based in-person at our headquarters with limited flexibility for remote work. Specific details regarding schedule are to be discussed during the interview process.
Interns will receive ongoing supervision, participate in regular check-ins, and complete both a midterm and a final evaluation. They must also develop and complete an independent project to receive university credit for the internship experience.
Compensation for this position is $20 per hour.
