Conference Intern (GoalBusters Consulting)

Friends of GoalBusters (FOG) Conference Intern
Summer 2026 | Remote | $2,000 Stipend


GoalBusters Consulting is seeking a Summer 2026 Conference Intern to support the planning and execution of the Friends of GoalBusters (FOG) Conference, a curated gathering of nonprofit leaders and clients focused on fundraising strategy, leadership, and community building.


The intern will work directly with Alice Ferris (BA ’91, MBA ’94), Partner at GoalBusters Consulting, and a University of Wisconsin–Madison alumna.


This is a remote internship with optional onsite participation during the FOG Conference and GoalBusters team retreat, August 25–29, 2026 in Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico.


About GoalBusters


GoalBusters Consulting partners with nonprofit organizations across the country in strategic planning, fundraising, leadership development, and conference facilitation. The Friends of GoalBusters Conference is an intentionally designed, high-touch event that brings together mission-driven leaders for connection and practical strategy.


FOG is part conference, part retreat, and part production, and the intern will be involved in all stages of bringing it to life.


Position Overview


The FOG Intern will support marketing, speaker coordination, content preparation, and logistical planning leading up to the conference. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing moving pieces behind the scenes while also contributing to outward-facing communications.


Primary Responsibilities

Conference Marketing & Communications

  • Assist with updating conference webpages (WordPress or similar platform)
  • Draft and schedule email communications
  • Coordinate speaker bios, headshots, and session descriptions
  • Support social media promotion
  • Maintain consistency in visual and written branding

 

Production & Logistics

  • Support creation of video promotional assets
  • Assist with the preparation of printed materials and signage
  • Help coordinate sponsor recognition and materials, if applicable


Content & Experience Support

  • Support post-event recap communications and surveys
  • Assist with organization of digital conference assets


Optional Onsite Participation (August 25–29, 2026)
If available, the intern may:

  • Support event registration and attendee experience
  • Assist speakers and sponsors
  • Help manage materials and production logistics
  • Observe high-level nonprofit strategy sessions
  • Participate in the annual GoalBusters strategy and team-building retreat


Schedule & Compensation
Dates: May 18 – August 31, 2026

Hours: Approximately 5–8 hours per week (May–July), 8–10 hours per week (August) 

Compensation: $2,000 stipend, paid in two installments:

  • $1,000 in July
  • $1,000 upon successful completion


Travel and lodging will be provided for onsite participation.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Comfort working independently with structured weekly check-ins
  • Familiarity with Canva, WordPress, or email marketing platforms preferred
  • Interest in nonprofit leadership, event production, communications, or media
