The role of Undergraduate Marketing Intern is intended to start in Summer 2026.

An internship is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.
A Look Inside 3M Marketing:
- As a 3M Marketing Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your marketing skills to support sponsorships, brand partnerships, and experiential initiatives that elevate 3M’s presence and business impact.
- In this role, you will collaborate with experienced marketing professionals on high-visibility programs that drive brand engagement, strengthen customer relationships, and create memorable experiences for key audiences.
- This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive onboarding experience, along with coaching and support from seasoned marketers, as you expand your knowledge and expertise.
- Projects may include sponsorship activation, event marketing, hospitality programs, partnership strategy, guest experience planning, brand storytelling, and other strategic initiatives that showcase 3M in the marketplace.
- These foundational assignments can pave the way for a rewarding career in marketing.

Here, you will make an impact by:
Executive & Administrative Support
- Support executive operations and key leadership deliverables to ensure seamless event execution.
- Provide administrative and organizational support across reporting, coordination, and daily business functions.
- Manage post-event communications and access control processes for key stakeholders and venues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Business Impact
- Contribute to projects that address real business challenges and drive meaningful results.
- Partner with sales, product development, and cross-functional teams to support aligned marketing strategies.
Ticketing & Guest Management
- Manage ticket requests and allocations through TicketManager and the 3M Open planning platform.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding ticketing, logistics, and event
- processes.
- Support registration updates for key events.
- Coordinate ticketing and hospitality logistics for Twins games, concerts, and pre-tournament events.
Hospitality & Premium Guest Experience
- Assist in executing premium hospitality experiences for the 3M Open, including tent operations and guest-facing spaces.
- Coordinate check-in areas, seating layouts, guest flow, and food and beverage service.
- Ensure bars, lounges, and viewing areas are guest-ready and aligned with a premium experience.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and recommend service improvements.
Event Operations & Execution
- Provide on-site event support including guest check-in, troubleshooting, volunteer coordination, and runner duties.
- Lead volunteer scheduling and communications for the 3M Brand Experience.
- Support execution of the Partner Program Pro-Am and other tournament events.
- Assist with venue setup and tear-down, including physical event support up to 20 lbs.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license for transportation-related responsibilities.
Brand Management & Logistics
- Capture and organize branded asset photography for post-event recap materials.
- Contribute ideas for floor plans, activations, and event logistics.
- Maintain run-of-show documents and coordinate operational details across programs and stakeholders.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or higher, from an accredited institution.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Marketing, IT, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Completed a minimum of junior year (6 semesters) by the start of the internship.
- Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Completion of two of the required classes in the major, minor, or concentration.
- Strong time management skills, ability to analyze and solve complex problems, communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Strong aptitude and desire for a career in marketing.
Work location:
- This Role has an on-site working model, with the employees working at least four (4) days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN
- Travel: May include up to 10% domestic travel
- 3M provides eligible interns with a housing and transportation stipend in accordance with current policy.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
