This is a paid internship and will work fully onsite.
The Information Governance Internship assists in processing incoming information, sorts, codes and classifies material for integration into systems, including the data entry of physical and electronic material, retrieves / references information for customers, and utilizes departmental technology systems where needed to perform necessary job functions. During the internship, interns will have the opportunity to assist a team of IG professionals with a range of projects across these disciplines:
- Demonstrates proficiency in departmental technology systems, including the Document Management System and the Records Management Software.
- Sorts, classifies, and files various physical and electronic media types.
- Respond to e-mail and ticket requests.
- Retrieves and distributes requested files or filing.
- Prepares additional new sub-files within the file classification plan.
- Performs quality assurance on data entry and scanned images for information assets across all media types.
- Maintains the retrieval of information to and from the Firms internal and external customers by utilizing the Records Management Software.
- Creates and maintains electronic and imaged records. Includes the preparation of physical documents, scanning, and profiling.
- Ensuring information security compliance such as ethical walls, protective orders, and legal holds.
- Provides guidance and support to end users on Information Governance processes and procedures.
- Performs other duties as may be required.
Additionally, interns will attend team meetings, meet one‐on‐one with the Information Governance Supervisor for feedback, and receive weekly mentoring.
SCHEDULE
The Information Governance Intern will work fully onsite in our Bloomington, IL office. The schedule will be up to 20 hours per week. This internship is scheduled to conclude May 31, 2027, with the possibility of an extension if needed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Experience with databases preferred.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Excellent communication skills.
