Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA)

Position Summary

The Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college intern to support the development of organizational data dashboards, analytics tools, and reporting systems. This internship provides hands-on experience working with educational, membership, event, and organizational data to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

The intern will collaborate with AWSA staff to organize data, develop visual dashboards, identify trends, and improve reporting processes that support AWSA programs, services, and member engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of interactive data dashboards and visual reports
  • Organize, clean, and validate data from multiple sources and systems
  • Support data analysis related to membership, professional learning events, surveys, and organizational initiatives
  • Create charts, graphs, and visualizations to communicate trends and insights
  • Help develop automated reporting processes and data workflows
  • Assist staff in identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics
  • Conduct basic research and benchmarking related to data analytics and dashboard best practices
  • Support strategic planning and organizational improvement efforts through data analysis
  • Prepare summaries and presentations of findings for AWSA leadership and staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of organizational data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current college student pursuing a degree in:
    • Data Analytics
    • Business Analytics
    • Information Systems
    • Computer Science
    • Statistics
    • Educational Leadership or related field
  • Experience with spreadsheet and data tools such as:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Google Sheets
    • Power BI
    • Tableau
    • Looker Studio or similar platforms
  • Basic understanding of data visualization and analytics principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze information and communicate findings clearly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Interest in education, leadership, and nonprofit organizations preferred
