Athletic Communications Assistant Intern

General

As an intern of the Madison College Athletics Department, you will be expected to contribute your unique talents and energies to the program.  In return, you will be given opportunity to grow and advance your personal strengths and abilities while learning new skills. Madison College sponsors ten varsity intercollegiate athletic teams competing at the NJCAA Division II level. 

Responsibilities

Daily Tasks

  • Pre-game and postgame social media posts
  • Assist with additional social media campaigns
  • Maintenance of the athletic department website
  • Create content for the website and social media
  • Organization of game photos

Game Day Tasks

  • Take photos and video during select games
  • Assist with creation of programs, PA scripts, and event protocol documents
  • Assist with statistics
  • Assist with schedule changes and venue preparation

Special Projects

  • Conduct and/or create video interviews for website and social media
  • Promote camps via athletics website and social media
  • Produce images for social media & TV monitors
  • Historical updates to website and databases
  • Assist with organization of postseason tournaments

Miscellaneous

  • Other duties as necessary to provide excellence within the Madison College Athletics and Recreation departments

Skills

  • Ability to communicate accurately and grammatically via written and spoken word
  • Videography and photography
  • Graphic design via Adobe Photoshop or web-based programs
  • Organized and works in a timely manner

Commitment

  • 10-20 hours per week
    • Minimum ten hours in office…rest of hours may be remote
    • Some nights and weekends included
    • Schedule is flexible
  • Position reports directly to the Athletic Communications & Marketing Coordinator
  • General position timelines (Dates can vary and are flexible)
    • Fall: September 1 – December 15
    • Spring: January 15 – April 30
    • Summer: May 1 – August 15
  • Compensation: $1,200/semester for fall & spring semesters
