Partnerships and Community Impact Intern: Fall 2026

Position: Partnerships and Community Impact Intern -Communication Systems 
Location: Hybrid with weekly office hours at Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin in Madison, WI & community engagement activities within Second Harvest’s 16 county service area
Duration: September 7, 2026–December 11, 2026
Hours: 10-15 hours per week (150 hours total)

Compensation: $500 Stipend

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Partnerships and Community Impact Intern will support communication and engagement efforts with our network of almost 300 partners across our 16-county service area. The goal of this work is to develop and refine internal systems that support our relationships and monitoring for both pantry partners and Youth and Family programs that we directly operate. Responsibilities include working within Salesforce system (data entry and cleaning); researching and developing trends in foodbanking and foodbanking best practices content to be shared with our partners; supporting basic data analysis of partner surveys; and other administrative duties as assigned. 

Interns will gain valuable experience in relationship management and network development in foodbanking, as well as nonprofit systems and process management. This role will also involve site visits with Community Representatives to learn about compliance and monitoring of our partnerships, and how this work is represented in the Salesforce system.

HOURS: 10-15 hours per week, hybrid.

LOCATION: Weekly in-office hours at Second Harvest Foodbank’s administrative building located at 2850 Dairy Drive, Madison WI 53719 and occasional travel within Second Harvest’s 16 county service area.

COMPENSATION: $500 stipend available

WORK-RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support SHF staff with transition to Salesforce (CRM) by reviewing and improving communication processes and tools used with partners within the system. 
  • Work in our WordPress partner portal site, review and make recommendations for dynamic, relevant content that supports partner work.
  • Assist with basic data analysis and display for our partner portal, including survey data, partner-reported household data, or pounds distributed.
  • Contribute to the development of content for partner communications and trainings.
  • With the guidance of the Departmental Administrative Coordinator, assist with other Department communication management efforts, as needed.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1. Experience using Salesforce (or other Customer Relationship Management systems); or WordPress.
